Ancient Painting Techniques: The course introduces the students to painting techniques practiced between the 1300s and 1500s. Students will also study the major art works created during that period, made by artists from Giotto to Leonardo and Michelangelo. The knowledge gained will be put into practice by the copying of paintings, so that students learn the fundamental techniques used for materials such as egg tempera, gold leaf, oil colours and other materials. The entire process for the realization of complete paintings will start by the preparation of the support materials, and it will end with final glazing.
Contemporary Painting Techniques: This course is designed to teach the students to use the new art language using new support materials such as plastic, various canvases, wood, and metal. Students will also learn different painting techniques ranging from old traditional colors, to the use of mixed techniques such as color applied with sponge, spatulas and rollers. The combination of new support and painting techniques will help the student to develop a new language and personal painting style.
