The intensive course is a good solution for those who have limited time to study but wish to experiment in the area of contemporary jewellery.
The course is taught on a one-to-one basis. Each student is guided individually to ensure that lessons meet their specific needs.
Basic Techniques for Beginners:
In this course, the student will learn the basic techniques such as: sawing, filing, soldering, hammering and polishing to create a
first series of jewellery pieces. In addition to traditional techniques, exercises include experimentation with alternative materials.
Traditional Italian goldsmithing with focus on movements, hinges and closures, single stone setting, openwork and engraving
and the use of microflame and electric welder will be taught.
Experimentation with materials:
The focus of this course is to test and explore material and form. Every material has a hidden value and this course shows
the path to discover it. From textile to wood, from leather to plastic, from recycling to up cycling unknown worlds will be explored.
Reaction of different metals and alloys to reticulation, oxidation and coloring agents as well as marriage metal,
surface coloring with pigments and gilding techniques will be explored.
Textile techniques in metal:
Crochet, interlacing and weaving with metals.
The use of resins in combination with metal, the casting process and the fabrication of molds are the focus of this program
